About the client
As a mother of a busy toddler, Mary was inspired to create an early childhood development activity planner for families with children aged 1–5. The app was designed to help parents organize screen-free, age-appropriate activities that support learning, creativity, motor skills, and social and emotional development. Our client has offered a personalized approach that adapts activity recommendations to each child’s age, interests, and development focus.Project idea
LivHop makes purposeful off-line games easier for parents to incorporate into everyday family life. Although it can be specified as educational software for kids, the idea is to use it as a tool for guidance rather than to add extra screen time. The e-learning platform provides early childhood activities in a structured format, reducing the time parents spend searching for suitable ideas and preparation. Rather than functioning as a simple activity library, LivHop leverages personalization, with recommendations adapted to each child and family routine.
Story
The founder of LivHop approached Apiko with the product concept, and our team developed it into a mobile application for parents. The app generates two-week activity plans, provides instructions and supporting materials lists, and lets parents track completed activities, rate them, and save photos in a personal gallery. We have also developed an admin web application for the LivHop team. It allows administrators to manage users and their subscription plans, activity templates, supporting files, and other content delivered through the mobile app.Challenges & solutions for educational app development
Here are the challenges the project faced and solutions we’ve implemented- Build a hybrid mobile app that provides activities for early childhood education
- Create a flexible system for generating and managing activity plans
- Support free and paid subscription models
- Develop an admin web application for user and content management
- Ensure a smooth and intuitive experience for both parents and administrators
Main modules of the product

Parents complete a quiz that helps tailor the activity plan to their child and family routine. It collects information about the child’s age, developmental goals, possible challenges, and the amount of time parents want to dedicate to activities. Parents can also specify preferred activity days and other details that help personalize the schedule.

Based on the profile, LivHop generates daycare activities for a two-week period from Monday to Sunday. Parents or caregivers can regenerate the activities if they wish, while notifications let them know when new activities are available.

Each activity includes a description, estimated duration, required materials, and supporting files such as printable resources. Parents can mark activities as completed, rate whether their child liked them, and upload photos of the results to a personal gallery.

LivHop supports several access options, including free, monthly, and annual plans. The free version provides one activity per day, while paid subscriptions unlock full access to the platform. Subscription-related notifications also keep users informed about changes to their access.

The admin web app gives the LivHop team control over users and activity content. Administrators can view basic user information, manage or delete accounts, invite other admins, and create or edit activity templates with descriptions, files, and other supporting content.
